An enhanced, spotty pigmentation in the forehead, cheek and upper lip region of the face which for the most part occurs through hormonal changes and increased solar radiation is referred to as chloasma.

A reduction or elimination of symptoms can be achieved through a medium-deep TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peeling here as well as through a treatment with the Fraxel® laser.

In addition, consistent light protection is to be heeded.
