Sun Damage

The ultraviolet radiation of sunlight influences and regulates various sequences in our body. However, too much sun over a longer period of time can have severe consequences, particularly for the skin. Sun damage, so-called “photodermatoses”, occurs. For instance, skin alterations which occur with excessive exposure to sunlight are enlargement of skin fold pattern, pigmented spots, sun allergy and skin cancer.

Oily sun protection preparations can also be responsible for the development of acne-like alteration and papules on the face, arms, back and décolleté (so-called “polymorphous light eruption”). Various treatment options are available to us with regard to sun damage. It can be surgically removed or treated through alternative methods such as freezing, photodynamic therapies, etc. We coordinate the respective treatment individually in the consultation with every patient.
